A matter of style…
August 20, 2012
Here we have Australian surfer ‘Mark Cherry’* pushing hard off the bottom at Dreamland Beach – Bali Indonesia.
Mark is displaying a pose commonly refered to as the ‘Waiter’… a technique typically applied in the course of a bottom hand turn.
To achieve the ‘Waiter’… extend the outer arm at a right angles from your body… turning your forearm inward at approx 75-90 degrees.
This manoeuver enhances flow and defuses aggression – due to the inferred sense of ‘servitude’.
Long live the ‘Waiter’.
*Mark Cherry passed away due to complications with lung cancer 2 years ago to the day.
