Ummm…it’s NEVER too late for excuse is it Bear ?
Not on this island Jo… particularly if you’re in politics
But we got swell! Yesterday (Jan 1) only the abstinent monks among us were surfing in the morning. Today, like 200 plus, not to mention a half dozen surf schools at good overhead Serangan….the kind of day twenty years ago would be an terrific surfed-out session but today is just depressing.
However, next weekend, it’s gonna be crowd-control size.

The first day of the year – the day that’s always mellow. But as for me RL, I’m still a tragic cripple – a least for a couple months more. Which also means I won’t be sailing west with Mr Stark to dine on the first epic swell of the year – not that I’m complaining (maybe just a bit).

Yeah, I imagine those crutches are being well-used. But you’re not letting your brain idle, at least. I think I get the place you are referring to for the dinner. Maybe this time the crew will score all time…but if it’s wooly and wild and westerly, and I don’t think anybody really peruses these comments, will the captain head just that little bit north…
