Mark Cherry – 3 years on…

There’s a point in life when it’s hard to develop certain friendships. The older we get – the harder it gets. Close relationships are built upon history… a common understanding that’s forged through years of shared experience. It takes time & effort to develop those connections; and it’s very devastating when they end.
Three years ago my closest mate lost his battle with lung cancer. He died too young and didnt deserve to go… but it happened.
It remains difficult to accept that he’s not around anymore… because there’s still so much great stuff happening… stuff I know he’d want to be a part of. But we can’t control the universe, only how we see it.
I believe that the past is done… the future hasnt happened… and we only have the ‘now’.
Its obvious stuff… but its true.
And so with those thoughts… lets go surfing… because what else are we gonna do?
Rest in peace Cheza.

I heard that they used to call his stance ‘the waiter ‘ – that’s after he took all the waves off you.

Its good to remember the brothers that have passed, there part of your history, and those memories shape your future.
